Teaching & Commandments 158:9–20
Now, hear the words of the Lord to those who receive this covenant this day: All you who have turned from your wicked ways and repented of your evil doings, of lying and deceiving, and of all whoredoms, and of secret abominations, idolatries, murders, priestcrafts, envying, and strife, and from all wickedness and abominations, and have come unto me, and been baptized in my name, and have received a remission of your sins, and received the holy ghost, are now numbered with my people who are of the house of Israel. I say to you:
Teach your children to honor me. Seek to recover the lost sheep remnant of this land and of Israel and no longer forsake them. Bring them unto me and teach them of my ways, to walk in them.
And I, the Lord your God, will be with you and will never forsake you, and I will lead you in the path which will bring peace to you in the troubling season now fast approaching.
I will raise you up and protect you, abide with you, and gather you in due time, and this shall be a land of promise to you as your inheritance from me.
The earth will yield its increase, and you will flourish upon the mountains and upon the hills, and the wicked will not come against you because the fear of the Lord will be with you.
I will visit my house, which the remnant of my people shall build, and I will dwell therein, to be among you, and no one will need to say, Know ye the Lord, for you all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
I will teach you things that have been hidden from the foundation of the world and your understanding will reach unto Heaven.
And you shall be called the children of the Most High God, and I will preserve you against the harvest.
And the angels sent to harvest the world will gather the wicked into bundles to be burned, but will pass over you as my peculiar treasure.
But if you do not honor me, nor seek to recover my people Israel, nor teach your children to honor me, nor care for the poor among you, nor help lighten one another's burdens, then you have no promise from me and I will raise up other people who will honor and serve me, and give unto them this land, and if they repent, I will abide with them.
The time is now far spent, therefore labor with me and do not forsake my covenant to perform it; study my words and let them be the standard for your faith, and I will add thereto many treasures. Love one another and you will be mine, and I will preserve you, and raise you up, and abide with you for ever. Amen.
Denver C. Snuffer Jr. · Preserving the Restoration, pp. 144–145
"Heaven will look for a temple in Zion to accurately reflect the pattern of heaven. When they see it has been built, they will come to embrace its builders and kiss their necks. They will only come when we are their sons and daughters, fully restored to the Family of God, united with them in belief, covenant, knowledge, and filled with the glory of God, which is intelligence.
In the allegory, grafting is a failure if the fruit continues to be bitter. Fruit is a genealogical term. Adam and Eve were commanded to 'be fruitful and multiply.' Christ's gospel involves perpetuating a 'family of Gods.' Marriage mirrors the infinite. The 'fruit' to be saved refers to an eternal family, with God at the head.
Salvation does not come by ignorance and indifference. The gospel of Christ can bring us back to the presence of God. He will speak to any one of us, just as He spoke to Joseph Smith. He will answer any earnest seeker. No one will be sent away disappointed.
The Lord, who would not turn away the blind, the halt, the crippled, and the leprous, has compassion on us all. The Lord, who seeing the widow, whose only son was dead, was moved with compassion to restore the life of her son, will respond to the earnest seeker today. God speaks. If you doubt He speaks, then learn to hear His still, small voice. He is accessible to all of us."
Denver C. Snuffer Jr. · Preserving the Restoration, p. 149
"Every time the full covenant is given, it includes a promised land. The Americas are the land God covenanted to give His covenant people. The gentiles must repent and accept His gospel, not adulterate or change it, to be part of His covenant people. This requires more of the gentiles than they have been willing to give so far. We must remember, repent and return before the covenant will be renewed. To join the church heaven recognizes requires it to be done in His way, according to His commandments, practiced in purity before Him. If we do this, it can lead to our adoption and sealing into His restored family. Joseph tried to accomplish this. Although he was qualified and sealed a few, it was not possible to finish the work. We will not finish it either if we continue the jarrings, contentions, envyings, strifes, lusts, and covetous desires that typify gentile behavior. We must become of one heart, having no poor among us. Gentiles have never accomplished that. The prophecies foretell some few will eventually do so."
Prepare Your Heart
A topical listening guide to arrive grounded in the themes we'll explore together. Episodes are drawn from the Light and Truth and Denver Snuffer podcasts. Open any series below to see its episodes — listen at the pace that suits you in the weeks before the conference.
RE 3 Nephi 8:1 · LDS 3 Nephi 17:1–4
1Behold, now it came to pass that when Jesus had spoken these words, he looked round about again on the multitude and he said unto them, Behold, my time is at hand. 2I perceive that ye are weak, that ye cannot understand all my words which I am commanded of the Father to speak unto you at this time; 3therefore, go ye unto your homes, and ponder upon the things which I have said, and ask of the Father, in my name, that ye may understand and prepare your minds for the morrow, and I come unto you again. 4But now I go unto the Father, and also to shew myself unto the lost tribes of Israel, for they are not lost unto the Father, for he knoweth whither he hath taken them.
This is our intention: that we individually and in our families and in our homes, seek the Lord directly so that our hearts and minds may be prepared to receive understanding and further knowledge directly from our Lord, as it is in His own heart.

Learn MoreLegend of the Grand Mesa
On the western slopes of Grand Mesa — known to the Ute people as Thigunawat, "land of the departed spirits" — a remarkable figure is etched into the trees and rock: a Thunderbird, wings spread wide, with a sinuous River Serpent running below it. The formation is visible from the Grand Valley, and has been a source of wonder for generations.
According to Ute tradition, giant Thunderbirds once ruled the skies above the Mesa. When the birds descended upon a village and carried children back to their nest, the tribe sent its fiercest warrior to recover them — only to discover the children had been eaten. In his fury, he hurled the Thunderbird eggs over the side of the Mesa. When the Thunderbirds returned and found their nest destroyed, they tore apart a great serpent devouring their offspring's eggs, hurling its pieces down onto the Mesa's flat top. The gouges filled with rain and the tears of the Thunderbirds, forming the countless lakes that crown Grand Mesa today.
It is said that two eerie winds still cross the crest: the wail of the grieving Thunderbirds, and the mournful cry of the warrior who lost his child. Anyone who has camped on those high ridges and heard the air moan through the pines may find themselves wondering which voice it is that haunts them.

Meet the Guest Speakers
Guest Speaker
Joshua Gehly is an ordained Evangelist of The Church of Jesus Christ, headquartered in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, and has preached the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ domestically, on indigenous reservations, and on multiple continents. He has presented lectures on the historicity of the Book of Mormon to many religious affiliations both within and outside the Restoration Movement.
He recently authored Witnessing Miracles: Historical Evidence for the Resurrection and the Book of Mormon, an Amazon #1 New Release in Christian Apologetics, which compares the evidence for the two most impactful miracles of the past two thousand years using an established, strict historical method. His presentations and podcast have been featured on several popular platforms and interfaith discourses, and can be found at BookofMormonHistory.com. Joshua graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Archaeological Science from Penn State University as an Evans Scholar and two-time Carleton Blunt Scholarship Award recipient.
Guest Speaker
Vaughn Hughes is an enthusiastic student of the scriptures and has been involved in several efforts to make the Restoration Edition, and now the Covenant Edition, of the scriptures available to anyone throughout the world with an interest in what the Lord has been doing in our day. These include online resources and tools for accessing and studying them, such as Scriptures.info, read.StickofJoseph.info, read.CovenantOfChrist.org, and BritHaMashiach.org.
His hope is to help bring about our covenant obligation to “seek to recover the lost sheep remnant of this land and of Israel and no longer forsake them.” His involvement with the Hebrew translation of Covenant of Christ has deepened his appreciation for both the text itself and for how directly the Lord's hand has been involved in this work. As husband to Corina, and as a father and grandfather, Vaughn hopes the truths recovered and clarified in these scriptures will be treasured and preserved by his descendants for generations to come.
Guest Speakers
Adrian and Tausha Larsen are dedicated researchers, authors, and voices within the “Remnant” movement, committed to uncovering the original truths of the Restoration. Together they write the blog To the Remnant, where they discuss scripture and challenge institutional narratives through a lens of primary historical documentation.
Tausha has been instrumental in organizing many conferences and events, including four years of inter-denominational Joseph Smith Restoration Conferences and seven years of movement-wide campouts in Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains. Adrian has been active in blogging, teaching, and speaking in the Covenant Christian movement for over a decade. He organized the team that produced The Stick of Joseph in the Hand of Ephraim, a culturally aligned, modern-English version of the Book of Mormon for Jewish readers, and most recently headed the effort to translate Covenant of Christ (The Book of Mormon) into scriptural Hebrew for religious Jews who read Torah.
The Larsens have seven children and seven grandchildren, and own a business in the healthcare technology space, which is quite enough to keep them busy day and night.

Three ways to bless our hosts
Cedaredge & Delta, Colorado
Delta County is blessing us by hosting our Conference, and we feel a deep desire to give something beautiful back in return. This is more than “helping out” — it's an opportunity to extend friendship, create warm and positive experiences, and share the joy of connection with neighbors who may not yet be familiar with the Covenant Christian Body.
We've chosen three simple, heartfelt ways to serve and show our gratitude in Delta County — and we invite you to join in however you feel inspired.
Located less than 3 minutes from our Saturday gathering in Delta, The Abraham Connection is close by — and it's also close to our hearts. During the conference, you'll find a monetary donation gifting box on a table, ready for anyone who feels moved to share. Our youth are also preparing “Made with Love Treats” to deliver — small, sweet reminders that people are seen, valued, and cared for.
We would also love to share physical copies of The Covenant of Christ — a meaningful gift that can offer comfort, hope, and a sense of belonging to shelter guests and others we meet.
Drop a monetary gift in the donation box at the conference, or contact Eva Gore to donate physical copies of The Covenant of Christ: [email protected] · (480) 765-1577
These four men — locals of Delta County — travel all over the Western Slope of the Grand Mesa, singing of their love and devotion to Jesus Christ. They serve for free, and they share their talent with any denomination who invites them. In Cedaredge, they often drop into our local FoodTown grocery store and sing patriotic songs and old-school hymns, turning an ordinary errand into a moment of warmth, nostalgia, and small-town connection.
They'll be singing for us on Saturday, and we'd love to surround them with gratitude for the joy they bring and the love they so freely give to our Covenant Christian Community.
A donation gift box will be available for them at the conference. They are hoping to record a CD to distribute, and have matching shirts and accessories made for their group when they perform.
Michael is a local of Cedaredge who truly desires both friendships and work. He is an honest, kind, open-hearted man who has been on a deep healing journey from physical and emotional trauma. He seeks spiritual nourishment and like-minded, deep, positive connections — and he loves to share a profound lesson or story from his life.
We have offered him work for the four days of conference, helping to set up what needs to be set up, cooking, welcoming people, making sure there is water and food available, cleaning up, and whatever else needs an “extra set of helping hands.” Hiring Michael is a tender opportunity to bless him toward temporal and health needs that are currently lacking, bless participants through his service, and — just as importantly — welcome him into conversation and growing friendships among us.
A “Thank You” for Michael box will be available at the conference. We warmly invite you to introduce yourselves, share a smile, and set aside a little time to truly get to know him. We believe this connection can be a blessing in both directions.
If even one of these moves your heart, you've already joined in. Friendship, presence, a few dollars, a kind word, a book left behind — every small gesture is part of the gift we leave behind in Delta County.
